The “Features” Exhibition by Photographer Ramia Jirban Opens in Jisr az-Zarqa
The “Features” exhibition by village-born photographer Ramia Jirban recently opened at the Jisr az-Zarqa Community Center, as part of a cultural evening celebrating the publication of the book “Jisr az-Zarqa – Testimonies Confronting Narratives.” The event brought together words and images in a collective effort to document local memory and narrative.
The exhibition features a distinctive collection of photographs documenting the features of the people of Jisr az-Zarqa through the artist’s lens. It captures memory and identity through faces and everyday details that convey authenticity and a deep sense of belonging, transforming photography into a living testimony to life and human dignity in the village.
Ramia Jirban has been a professional photographer since 2015, specializing in children’s and family photography, as well as photography-based therapy. Over the years, she has accompanied student groups in artistic photography courses that culminated in exhibitions at educational institutions in Jisr az-Zarqa. She has also conducted photography workshops and participated in various exhibitions. She is the first woman from Jisr az-Zarqa to open her own photography studio, driven by her belief in the role of art in community empowerment.
The “Features” exhibition remained open to the public until March 3, 2026, at the Jisr az-Zarqa Community Center, inviting residents and visitors to discover an artistic experience that documents the people of Jisr az-Zarqa through an authentic local lens.
