A Word

Director General

The Al-Jisrawi Heritage Center represents a cultural and digital project, the first and only one of its kind in Jisr Al-Zarqa. It was launched to document the Jisrawi narrative, immortalize collective memory, preserve tangible and intangible heritage, and promote cultural, artistic, and intellectual activities in the village.

We do not view heritage as a past preserved in images and documents, but as a living memory and a source of identity, belonging, and pride—a bridge connecting generations to the history of the place and the story of the Jisrawi people. Therefore, the Center manages a group of vital projects and cultural pillars, most notably: the Jisr Al-Zarqa Museum, the “Raqash” Art Gallery, the “Kitara” project for reviving handicrafts and manual trades, the “Al-Mina” project for documenting maritime heritage and exploring the marine environment, alongside the “Mills of Collective Memory” project.

Our vision is for the Center to be a revolutionary and interactive space that brings together history, art, and technology, gives young people a central role in carrying memory and shaping the future, and helps present Jisr Al-Zarqa to the world with its authentic spirit, rich identity, and living cultural legacy.
