The results of a survey conducted during the launch evening of the book “Jisr al-Zarqa – Testimonies in Confronting Narratives” reveal the audience’s strong appetite for cultural activity.

Jisr al-Zarqa – The results of a public opinion survey conducted by the Jisr al-Zarqa Heritage Center among participants in the cultural evening marking the launch of the book “Jisr al-Zarqa – Testimonies in Confronting Narratives” by authors Samir Abu al-Heijaa and Sami al-Ali revealed a remarkable level of satisfaction and engagement. This clearly indicates the local community’s strong appetite for more cultural events that enhance awareness of memory and local narratives.

The survey results showed that 57% of participants rated the evening as excellent, 26% as very good, 13% as weak, while 4% considered it moderately good, with no negative ratings recorded. Regarding the content of the evening, 52% rated it as excellent, 26% as very good, 13% as weak, while 9% said it could be improved.

As for the organization of the event, 57% of participants said it was excellent, 22% very good, 13% weak, and 9% moderately good, reflecting clear success at both the professional and organizational levels.

In the open comments section, participants expressed deep appreciation for the evening, stressing its importance in documenting the village’s history and strengthening belonging. They also called for more similar cultural events. Several participants noted that the evening provided a rare and necessary space to hear local narratives and encourage cultural dialogue, emphasizing that the community is eager for such initiatives that restore collective memory and give it a living presence in the public sphere.

The administration of the Jisr al-Zarqa Heritage Center commented: “This evening was not merely a passing cultural event, but a pivotal milestone reflecting growing community awareness and highlighting the urgent need for continued cultural activity in Jisr al-Zarqa, in a way that strengthens identity, preserves narrative, and opens new horizons for future generations.”

The center also confirmed that distributing the survey via a digital link after the event was part of its commitment to listening to public feedback and professionally evaluating the experience, using the insights to improve future cultural initiatives. This reinforces the role of culture as a key pillar in preserving history and building community awareness.
