Meeting to develop a literary, heritage, and social initiative in Jisr az-Zarqa

As part of a leadership role in advancing educational and community work, the Jisr az-Zarqa Heritage Center, together with the Youth and Informal Education Unit of the Jisr az-Zarqa Local Council, initiated a consultative meeting to develop a literary and heritage-based initiative in partnership with the Korczak Educational Institute, inspired by the philosophy of the educator and writer Janusz Korczak.

This meeting aligns with the vision of the Youth and Informal Education Unit to embrace high-quality initiatives that connect literature, heritage, and community engagement. It aims to empower children and youth while strengthening their sense of belonging to their cultural and historical identity through contemporary educational and creative tools.

Participants in the meeting included Mr. Sami Al-Ali, Director of the Jisr az-Zarqa Heritage Center; Mr. Mahmoud Sadiq Ammash, Director of the Youth and Informal Education Unit; Ms. Dalia Tauber, Head of the Israeli Janusz Korczak Educational Institute; Dr. Orna Dovdovani from the institute’s team; and Dr. Amala Einat, writer and child psychologist.

The meeting explored prospects for developing joint educational and cultural programs, which will be formulated and implemented in the coming phase under the leadership of the Jisr az-Zarqa Heritage Center, with follow-up by the Youth and Informal Education Unit of the local council and in cooperation with partners, in a way that strengthens identity, belonging, and sustainable community engagement.
